Our impact

Did you know?

Waste isn't just a problem, it's beauty's biggest opportunity for impact.

13.2% of food is lost between harvest and retail every year - around 1.25B tonnes, driving significant emissions.

Virgin agricultural ingredient sourcing adds pressure to land, water, biodiversity, and increases emissions.

Raw materials and ingredient sourcing drive around 30–50% of beauty’s emissions.

Despite the significant environmental footprint of ingredient sourcing, most beauty brands still frame sustainability through packaging, not formulation. By focusing on upcycled ingredients, we help redirect waste streams to reduce the environmental impact of food loss and virgin ingredient sourcing.

Packaging still matters, and we use 100% recycled dropper bottles to help reduce packaging waste, but the biggest opportunity for impact lies in the formula.

What are upcycled ingredients?

Upcycled ingredients come from nutrient-dense plant by-products created through existing processing streams, most commonly food, but also tea and coffee production, wine and oil making, and even wood and bark extracts from forestry. By making use of what already exists, we maximise value and reduce the need to extract new materials from nature.

Building Impact into the Formula

We measure the environmental impact designed into our formulas and packaging.

Ingredients are chosen for skin performance, waste-stream traceability, and their broader impact on people and planet.

We conserve water in the formula by replacing it with upcycled hydrosols that also bring skin and sensorial benefits.

We've built a scalable formula for change, not just a single product.

That means measurable impact across ingredients, packaging, emissions, and water use for every product. For every 10,000 bottles of our Kakadu Plum & Pomegranate Enzyme Vitamin C Serum produced, we help reduce waste and emissions:

318.12 kg upcycled inputs redirected from waste streams.

458 kg recycled plastic diverted from waste streams.

~0.82 t CO₂e emissions avoided through recycled packaging materials.

283 L Water conserved by replacing formula water with upcycled hydrosols.
